Santiago Bosch was born and raised in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, in 1987. After the first years of his life as a music lover and listener, inspired and influenced by his father, saxophonist Jaime Bosch, he began studying piano at the age of 9. During that time, he received former education in classical music/piano training, but after two years, the weight and influence that jazz, jazz fusion and improvised music had on him since a very early age, made him quit the classical school to dedicate entirely to practice at home by ear, listening to the records of his favorite musicians over and over again. By age 15 he started composing music and also playing professional gigs, participating in album/recordings with diverse artists around the country, an experience that contributed to be a big part of his integral music education.
In 2011, he graduated from UPEL-IPB University in his hometown Barquisimeto, Venezuela, earning professor's degree in Music Education.
In 2015 he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts, earning a Piano Performance Major, bachelor degree. At Berklee he received a full Scholarship from the school to cover the cost of tuition. During his experience there, he participated in various musical activities as a sideman and bandleader, including trips, concerts, recitals, and recordings. He was also part of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute from 2014 to 2015. During his first years at Berklee College of Music, He was also sponsored by probably the most famous and biggest insurance company in Venezuela, named Seguros Universitas. He was named as the Musical Ambassador of the company, in which he received financial support to remain in the US for several years and got invited to play concerts at important private events for the company in Venezuela.
In 2017 he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music, this time as a graduate student, earning a Master Degree in Contemporary Jazz Performance at the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Once again, he received a full Scholarship from Berklee to cover the cost of this program.
